Bali Breathwork™ is a somatic, heart-led breathwork practice founded by Melanie Lopes that helps people build a stronger relationship with their body, their breath and the way they move through life. It offers daily guided practices, live sessions and events, immersive retreats and facilitator training.
Bali Breathwork was founded by Melanie “Mel” Lopes, a breathwork facilitator who works with breath, somatic practice and nervous system regulation. Her mission is to empower others to access their true potential and find their own unique path to growth and transformation.
Bali Breathwork exists because modern life disconnects people from themselves. We use the breath to bring people back to the present moment, so they can reconnect, listen and align body, mind and actions, not by escaping life but by becoming fully present for it.
Bali Breathwork was inspired by Bali not as a destination but as a way of living, where a morning offering or a moment of gratitude gives everyday moments meaning. Life is not something to rush through; it’s something to experience. Inspired by the spirit of Bali, created for everyday life.
Bali Breathwork is for anyone who wants to reconnect with their body, breath and mind, whether they’re new to breathwork or experienced. Some programmes, such as Reclaim Her and our retreats, are created specifically for women.
Bali Breathwork connects body, breath and brain. Rather than chasing intensity or altered states, it creates a safe space to come back into the body, reconnect with yourself and access what’s already there beneath the noise. Inspired by Buddhist teachings, it is grounded in presence, compassion and acceptance without judgement.
Conscious breathing is one of the most direct ways to influence the nervous system, helping the body move out of stress and into a calmer, more regulated state. Over time, regular practice can build emotional resilience and a deeper sense of safety in the body.
Breathwork is safe for most healthy adults when practised with proper guidance. Because it can be a powerful practice, every participant in our sessions must read and agree to our medical protocol beforehand, which lists the health conditions where breathwork isn’t recommended. Breathwork isn’t medical treatment or a replacement for therapy, so if you have a health condition or you’re unsure, please speak to your doctor first.
The Bali Breathwork Daily Breathwork Kit is a set of self-paced guided practices with immersive 8D sound. RISE wakes the body and clears morning fog, RESET quiets mental noise in the afternoon, and REST helps you release the day and unwind for a more restful night.
Reclaim Her is Bali Breathwork’s live online programme for women, led by Melanie Lopes. It helps women reconnect with their body, emotions and sense of self through breathwork, somatic practice, yoga and embodiment.
